I've been cooking a fair amount of Water spinach lately, Ipomea aquatica.
    Anyone else cook it?

Ok, this is a favourite of mine, I'm not sure if you can get century egg and duck egg over there in America. Maybe in one of the asian stores?

Yes, we can get that here.
We imported lots of Asian people too

There are some excellent places for food in SF Bay and in Sacramento.
Generally if you can get Ong Choy, Durians etc, you can get the other items as well. Otherwise there would be many homesick Asian people here
McDonalds and other American fair is not going to cut it

Actually duck eggs, even chicken eggs and a Pad Thai type of dish with these added sounds pretty good. I made what I called "Green Spaghetti" in a olive oil pepper sauce that was quite good.

I like the chicken broth idea with the egg. That would make a good soup.

We call it kangkong (sometimes as two words) here or in Chinese dialect, eng chye (variations in spelling and pronounciation). Very often stir-fried with a chilli paste as sambal kangkong (sambal being the Malay word for chilli) or less often stir fried with oil and garlic (and other condiments, I think, as I am no culinary expert). Readily available in most local restaurants.

Another popular and a favourite of mine is cuttlefish kangkong (ju he eng chye, in dialect). Boiled/blanched with cured cuttlefish, shredded cucumber, pineapple with or without rice vermicelli (beehoon or mi fun) and covered in a sweet sauce and chilli sauce. Lip smacking. But sorry, no recipes. May be somebody else can help.

Google "kangkong". I did and turned up this: http://www.makantime.com/kangkong.htm

    Making me hungry. Try it.

Strangely in Thailand it is refered to as 'Morning Glory' in the English menus. What promises it holds, I don't know
