I couldn't believe it when my parents told me our house was broke in just now when nobody was at home, around 3pm. A lot of houses in my hometown have been broke in by the thieves & stole a lot of valuable stuff since few years ago & police failed to catch them. They usually break into the houses during the day time when everyone is working outside.

Luckily, they didn't see my cameras, GPS & all those expensive things which are keep in an empty room. They failed to get anything from my drawer except took away my bank pass book. Tonight I have to withdraw all my money out & transfer to another bank account as I believe they found my signature in some documents inside my drawer.

Lesson learnt: Do not put everything into the drawer, especially the bank pass book. And do not put all the valuable stuff in one room.

My room became so messy when I reached home!

They took away the drawer from my mom's table which got gold chain & ring inside!

*Sigh*... Reminds me of when someone entered my old flat and stole my mum's jewellery... We were not well to do at all and my mum was very very upset...

I understand the feeling... You will feel kind of weird the next few nights... thinking that some stranger was there and rummaging through your belongings...

    Take care...

Always see those news reports on break-ins but didn't think it will actually happen to anyone around us. Sad to hear to about kuching's and Justikanz's unfortunate incidents. ...May you find strength and recovery in your hobby.

Your house no alarm? I think its a good investment. I experience this type of incident myself. The burglar actually climbed into the house at night and carried the whole bicycle out! Now got camera and alarm, I think it deters people with ill motives.

Michael, sorry about your loss. Count it off as a blessing instead, I really don't want to think what they will do if someone is in the house. Take care.

If this is any consolation, my house was broken in three times before, once in broad daylight as well, and I think they actually drove their car into the porch.

Lucky for you, there wasn't any confrontation or harm to your family. I've had my flat broken into twice before.

My relatives in JB had it worst. One cousin was robbed and tied up for 2 days with her husband in her house before anyone found out. Another had their 5 dogs poisoned, phone cut and petrol splashed all over the house. The robbers then demanded that valuables be thrown out of the windows. The polis arrived 1 hour after a call was made on a mobile phone.

    Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear about the incident but glad to hear that no one was injured and the losses were minimal.

My uncle's house in Johore Bahru was broken into about 20 years ago. They took everything. The unfortunate thing was that my uncle was at home during the break in. They shot him dead.

    Cheers,

    Hi Michael,

Feel sorry to heard about the incident too.

However, preventive action is necessary, especially in Malaysia.

You may consider to install an alarm system, hope that the siren may scare them away.

Really hope to see a leap improvement from the police force, in Johore State needs the most.

    Take care.

    Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear about the break in, my sister-in-law's house in Pahang was broken into few months back while she went for holiday with her husband. Though she installed alarms in the house, the burglar(s) climbed in from roof top and landed on her bed. Hence it did not trigger the alarm, she lost her brand new note book and some valuables. She needs to renovate her place after the incident as it was so messy with bed soaked with rain water. Now she is looking for a place to move out from that taman which is very quiet at night. Very scary.

Malaysia's crime rate had really gone up rapidly recently. Robbers can strike at the petrol station with all that many people around!

sorry to hear about your unlucky experience. The rise in crime rate is one reason why i am shunning our neighbour for the time being. No offense.
