After 2 years with this scape, I decided to move on. Will be tearing down this scape and try out a scape using rocks. With my tank placement, again i will need a scape that can be viewed from 3 position.

Plants will be mainly hairgrass and nana. From previous experience glosso and stemmed plants are too much for me to handle.

Any bros here has any good LFS to introduce for buying stones or rocks? Preferred those greyish granite type.

With the help of Mr Mark, finally I got all the rocks I need. Now cleaning up the rocks, tomorrow will start trying out different arrangement to get the best view.

I think this whole process of tearing down and rebuilding the tank will take me days. Is it possible for me to keep all my livestock in a pail with the filter running? Or is there any better way? Please advise.

Glad to learn the rocks are suitable for your new scape. Your tank has 3 viewing sides, are you going to place your rock in the centre and try to create a scape when veiwing on the front and the opposite side, they look as identical as possible to look like a mirror image?
Just my thought, use the rock as a divider and create two different scape, one at each side, made it looks like another tank when you are looking at the different side of the tank or if you are more ambitious, three scape in a single tank since you have three viewing side, your tank is a 4 x 2 x 2 right?
No sure it is workable haha, I am just talking rubbish.

Alex , have you thought of using robin idea of a diy chiller ?
take a look at his thread regarding his chiller made , i find it a good idea and i seen it working really well with his tank , i am sure you seen it for your own eyes that day too
just an advice , do consider .

I placed the filter inlet at the side which is hidden inside the cabinet.

As for the outlet, I actually run a rainbar on top of the tank and position it in the centreline of the tank. Outlets (those small holes which allow water to flow out) and position 2 feet away from the inlet.

With this I think I got a good flowrate as I never got any major BBA issue. The only time I got a major algae attack is when my CO2 tank run empty and it took me weeks before I found out.

Finally found some time to play around with the stones I bought a few months back.

Recycled all my equipments (4x54W T5HO, 2x AC fans, canister filter, pressurised CO2 and ADA soil. Also added in 1 packet of ADA powder sand and 2x blue LED for moonlight.

Initial plan was to make a sanzo iwagumi layout. But after a few hours of trial I settle for a more random type of layout.




Comments are needed.

Plants intended for this tank will be hairgrass or fissiden. Prefer something with minimium effort to maintain it.

Livestock will be either all shrimps or dwarf apisto or CPO.

Currently DIYing moonlight with advise from uncle Robin.

nice layout you have bro, but the top most rock on the left looks very unstable to me. seems like any slight movement it will topple off and damage the tank? maybe have to take note of that?

do you need fissiden?? i have lots of them!

Yeah it's unstable, I will silicon it once I finalise the layout. As for the fissiden I will PM you for details once I need them.

Moonlight in trial. Seems abit too bright. Wonder will it become dimmer when i top up the tank with water.
