there are, in the small tanks at the back of the fish shops. However the quality not that great, but with good food and good conditions, they should recover some colours.
    Cheers,

Biotope has a tank full of them. Polyart should also have some left from their last shipment in on 17th September.

The ones in Biotope are acclimitized well and displaying their full colouration. Polyart ones look abit colourless, but my experience is that once in your tank and well taken care of, they do display VERY intense red.

be careful when netting them out from the shop though...i've found boraras merah contaminants in my brigittae purchase before.

Seaview selling b. maculatas and b. urophthalmodies. No b. brigittae.

I would recommend eco-culture @macperhson since you are living in Sengkang.

    I PM you.

I would love to go down to those places but i am staying in hostel. So clementi is the nearest and easiest place for me to pop by and purchase to fish before giving the fishes their new home. Will try to ask the uncle.

no worries. from what i know, the brigittae stock in polyart doesn't move THAT fast anyway so monday should be safe for you unless you're intending to buy alot. less than 10 shouldn't be a problem. do take note though, catch your fish carefully as there might be some boraras merah contaminants.

haha tips? just be careful when netting the fish to make sure you catch the B.brigittae instead of the B.merah. they look very different.

as for sexing them, i'm afraid i can't help you...i have absolutely no idea

from a layman's point of view, brigittae has a redder body while merah is more transluscent/white and merah has a black dot near the front of its body while brigittae has a black ellipse/line running through the entire body

i think i may have a pair! bought 8 of them (lost one when transferring to the tank, apparantly it jumped and i could not find it for a moment. was dead either due to shock or lack of oxygen. for 5 mins!!! ) then gradually, they started to die. i did not know the reason initially, until i notice in the recent deaths, there were injuries on the bodies of the dead ones. also, out of so many of them, there was only one which became red and showed its colour and pattern (guess that's the male) and there is still one other fish left which showed its pattern but does not have an intense red as the former. Moreover, this two seemed to be living in harmony.

Now, i am not sure whether i should add more fishes and risk them dying or just leave the two of them in the tank (kind of weird to have 2 boraras in a nano tank). Argh.

Will try to post a photo!
