    Hi all

I am keeping six Cetopsis coecutiens and hoping to breed them in my 4ft tank. Does anybody in the forums share the same interest as mine? We can have a open discussion. Any expert can put in their thoughts and advise.

    Thanks and regards

I thought these fishes look rather unique and interesting with that blunt nose. They grow quite large, don't they?

And a predator as well, if I remember correctly. Possibly the reason why, being a planted tank forum, not many are keeping these fishes. I think there should be a number of chaps on Arofanatics keeping them.

What is the tank setup currently like, any pictures? What is their current diet?

    Hi koolman,

Very cute looking catfish. According to planet catfish, breeding is 'unreported' so if you have any success, be sure to share it with us!

    Hi bro

These kind of fishes attracted me cause they swim and look like a shark. According to the site, they can grow up to 10 inches.

I have check with arofanatics and nobody are keeping the same type of fishes as mine. They are keeping the other kind that does not swim at all.

My tank setup are very simple. I only decorate it with sand, bogwood and stones. I will take pic only if I have a good camera. Currently, I am feeding them with blood worms.

    Hi bro

They are indeed very cute but do not get deceive by their look. They are actually predators fishes. Big fishes that swallow them, they will not die and they will bite their way through their stomach. I will share my experience if I have finally breed them. Thanks for your support.

    Cheers

    Hi,
I guess you can try feeding them with MP.
Check out youtube - there is a video (Amazon abyss) which shows those blue whale cats feasting on a piece of bait.

    Hi,

Thanks for your info. Currently, I am feeding them with blood worms. Btw, could I throw in a few shrimps when I am going oversea next months?

    Cheers

How long will you be away next month?
If less than a week, then I believe it should not be a problem. Just feed them well and ensure that the water parameters are good before you go.
If more than a week then better draw out a feeding & water change schedule/plan and find someone for help.

Bloodworm isn't very nutritious so you might want to feed them other meaty food and pellets.

A few links on this blue whale cat.

Lastly, do post some pictures of their tank setup.

    Hi bro,

I will be oversea for just one week. I will be switching to Doctor Aqua sinking pellets after I finishes my blood worms supply. Thanks for all your time and advice. I will sure post my tank setup when I get a good camera.

    Cheers
