kel, how long has the nautilus been with u?
once in a blue moon seen it at pac marine but always reserved or not for sale.(but i also dun dare to try)
How much did u get it for & what u feed?
i've seen many reports,In captivity they not recorded to survive long- due to their natural environment- Deep waters & only come up shallow in the nite(that's why hard to get).
nah bran.. i never kept it.. took the pic in Pac marine.. like u mentioned, it has poor survival rate in captivity.. dun want to keep something that will not survive long.. (killis are a different issues). besides that, how deep can our tanks go?? max i give u is 3ft.. but those blokes live in tens to hundreds of ft down below.. how to simulate that..and i dun know how much it cost or let alone who reserve it

Btw- tetra bits quite good stuff as a staple(i use them now for F.Water as well as triggers,damsels & clowns- whatever that eats it).i went thru the ingredients, apart from soy meal(which is hard to digest by fish but its in most dry foods)the rest of the ingredients are ok. - Koi foods i stay away cause too much protein in it-
It won't provide the essential amino acids for growth in which u need meaty foods:adult brine shrimp/mysis/BW/squid....etc all the frozen or live stuff.
Almost everything i have doesn't get sick(apart from neons!argh!!)- & i get increased growth rate.Colours seem bright, mind u i feed exclusively on frozen(i go thru abt 6 packs a month)or live with a dash of dry foodstuffs only in the mornings before i leave for work.
A med size tin of dry stuff can last me a year.
hehhe.. me using tetra bits as staple.. and using frozen as supplements.. hahaha.. the direct opposite as u.. and yes.. it does create growth quickly.. but that is subjected to its environment.. i.e if your tank is 2ft.. no matter how old the fish is, it will not grow too big.. as compared to the fish that lives in a 6ft..fishes do grow according to their environment[] and a large tin (300g) can last me abt 3-6 months.. coz i dun feed often.. abt 5ml tsp a day.. for all my "pigs" inside the 4ft and half that size for my tetras in FW
