now THIS is right up Justin's alley.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

I need them for a science experiment and to put them inside my terrarium after that.
And Yes I would love to photograph them.
Many years ago, I used to be able to get these or was it the boatman from my Kampung stream.
Anyone who knows where to buy them please PM me.
    Thanks

There are diving beetles and there are diving beetles. Locally, at least 93 species of aquatic beetles are known (with 27 regarded as threatened with extinction) but are mostly found only in the less disturbed forest streams and swamps.

Actually there are many species that can be found in singapore...the problem is being able to catch them...or whether you're willing to go where they are.
It is illegal to collect in the nature reserves and whereever else they can be collected is quite remote. So..the best is just to hope you can find one in the pond somewhere.. although.. that would take quite a bit of luck and knowledge of where to look for them.
If you put them in your terrarium, they will eat your fsh when they get the chance...also they can also fly away when they don't feel like staying anymore. i've collected many of these at night light traps.

Guess the terrarium will be meant for them only, will be an alternative to fish. Think it will be quite nice to see two or three of them swimming in the water. Problem is - I still have no Idea where to find them. Perhaps can have a trip to collect them? Anyone keen??

Available as food here in Shenzhen, I remember it's around SGD 3 or 4 for 50 grams.

It's not easy to find them in nature reserve, best is to try fish pond.
