Hi do not be sad. If the pair has spawned before then they'll definitely spawn again.
Also is the female still in breeding coloration? If so there is still a chance.

Yes. Still in breeding colouration. I tried to release the male from the cage but the female wacked him till torn fins within few seconds.
I immediately transfer the male back to the cage.

If the female is still so protective there is still a chance that there are fries. Just wait and see a few days. Don't put back the male yet.

i don't think the female will whack the male if the brood is gone...furthermore, if she's eaten the wrigglers she'll lose her breeding colouration...so it's still likely that they're there

anyhow, even if they're not, your pair's very prolific...they spawned twice in one and a half weeks...so even if the brood is gone, wait another week or so and you'll have another

Yup yup but if the brood is gone maybe you can keep them seperated so that the female can rest and recuperate?

hehe maybe you should get a fine netting breeder box for your male instead? the wire mesh cage seems quite cramped for him. i bought 3 netting boxes for my 2 tanks to hold dithers and males when there is a spawn

How's the fine netting breeder box look like? Because i got limited space for my tank due to the bogwoods.

Eh shrimp999 keep your male in your fries tank first? Then when fries grow up do a switch.

    Hi Illumnae,
15cm cube a bit too big for my tank. Will try to look for smaller 1.

    Hi limchongyu,
The fries tank not fully cycle yet. Maybe need more days.

Update on the apistogramma agassizii "Red-Black" status.
No miracle happen on the last spawn.
Few attempt to release back the male from the cage back to the tank. But resulted torn fins and tails within minutes which attack by the female.

I changed the strategy where cage up the female rather than the male and let the tank become the territory for the male.
As for today i released the female back to the tank. Thanks god....no more fighting for them.

Female looks dressing back the breeding color. Both flaring at each others sometimes. Well....let see how it progress!
