    I got a very bad experience with this LFS in Bedook today. Was passing by this "Cheap till you drop" LFS so I went in to ask for a eheim spare part.
    Buy already, go home realised wrong one. Then no choice drive back go change. I live super far away somemore. I ask to change or refund for the wrong spare part. He found the correct one for me. He then call some eheim centre and talk over the phone asking for the price of the correct spare part. He told me need to top up another $10. I didn't wan to spend so much on that spare and asked for refund or change of item instead.
    He INSISTED cannot refund despite giving me the wrong spare at first and give me all the bull crap say refund very troublesome. He further INSISTED and say that I AM IN THE WRONG for not telling him the model number. I TOLD HIM CLEARLY ITS FOR 2026 and there he kpkb, give me black face say I trying to give trouble. If you are a lfs shopkeeper, WOULD YOU SELL YOUR CUSTOMER SOMETHING WITHOUR ASKING PROPERLY THE MODEL NUMBER? IT IS VERY CLEAR CUT THAT HE IS JUST TRYING TO EARN QUICK BUCK FROM A NEWBIE LIKE ME BY ANYHOW GIVE ME A PART. I super tulan + buay song + sian half already, then I just say I would just change for other items. He not happy also, kpkb, give me stupid face. WHERE GOT CANNOT CHANGE FOR ANOTHER ITEM OR REFUND WHEN YOU GIVE ME WRONG ITEM IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NOW FORCE ME TO TOP UP $10 FOR THE CORRECT ONE? SHOULDN"T I HAVE A CHOICE? Then in the end, he pick up phone again and NEVER SAY ANYTHING, then claim supplier say got discount, just top up $2 can. I don't want see his face, pay the difference and go off. Till now I feel super buay song, its NOT the MONEY, I would have pay the different if he bother to talk to me nicely but the service this shop provides is SUPER LOUSY and I got to TAHAN HIS POOR ATTUTUDE. Throughout the whole session, I am talking to him in a very polite tone. The shopkeeper got VERY POOR ATTITUTE and his way of handling customer really got problem.

    Not sure if any bros here got any bad/good experiences with them. FOR ME, IT IS DOWNRIGHT BAD EXPERIENCE, POOR SERVICE and DISHONEST.

    What regrettable service and attitude. Obviously the uncle does not understand our prime minister's message of the need for quality service.

    Whilst we don't normally allow members to post messages (containing specific information) that make themselves liable for lawsuits from the respective commercial entities, there's no real problem if ANOTHER member posts a picture 'a shop' in the same thread asking if this is indeed the said establishment. Of course, if there are no confirmation from the thread starter, then there is no liability.

    Hi

    I believe I know which shop Yeo is referring to. It is at Bedok North near the famous Bak Chor mee market.

    I've been to the shop a few times, I would say that the boss and lady boss attitude (under normal circumstances, ie, when there is no disputes) is good, there's an Indian shop assistance who can converse in chinese, hokkien there (Yeo, correct me if I am wrong) who's very helpful. My point is, the attitude of the people there is not as bad as describe, or more accurately, not as bad all the time.

    But I got to agree that in this case, the fella is most likely trying to pull a fast one and take advantage of the situation.

    By the way, there are 2 LFS there, and at one point or another, both used the 'cheap till siao' tagline.

    I don't frequent either shop, because personally, I don't really like the price competition among LFS, in the end, good LFS always gets hurt.

    After cooling down, I think I will be more fair to this lfs. Like what bossteck says, their attitute is not as bad when I buy my stuff. I am a firm believer in service. I simply can't accept their way of doing business. I felt so cornered and cheated when I go back to change the spare.

    1) When I ask for refund, I was being accused for giving wrong info. He claimed that Its my fault for not telling him the model number. My idea is he is pulling a fast one on me already. I did told him the model number or else how he so confidently get me something? I admit that I am careless here for not doing my homework. I am a new user to 2026, so how would I know how the spare look like?

    2) I was not allow to refund and also not allow to exchange for other items in the shop when he wants me to top up another $10 for the correct spare in which I am unwilling to. What logic is this? I gave him the wrong spare back in 100% condition. He is indirectly forcing me to fork out another $10.

    3) I talk nicely to him yet he gave me black face when I suggest for a change of item or refund.

    I would say, that lfs is a buy and forget type of lfs. Not worth recommanding to other bros here. Not me at least.

    In my experience, bring up the matter to CASE might not help. They will only ask the shop owner down for mediation and they can't enforce. If the owner refuse to response, CASE can only ask you to take legal action at your own expense. And you have to pay $30+ to join as a member before they will do anything for you in the first place.

    Sorry to hear about your bad experience..

    The block is 84, which is just next to block 85 Market. I live just opposite the block and have been there quite a few time.

    Some of the items that they are selling are real cheap.. Especially the Dolphine rang of HOB filters which is much much cheaper than even C328, but please do not assume that all other items are cheap as well.. I ever bought from them a standard 5kg pack of normal gravel, he quoted me $12 at first, and when I say that it seems to be expensive, he give me $2 discount. I later went to other lfs and they are all selling at $6 only..

    Nowsaday, I don't quite like to buy things from them because I don't like the way they do business. Anyway, if you just walk around the area, there are another 5 lfs to buy things from

    Knowledge gained from knowledgeable shops, but go to these 3+1 shops to buy.

    Actually not, I got most of the Aquascaping and fish raring knowledge from the bro in this forum

    This forum full of peoples with deep knowledge that really amaze me. So nope, hardly ask LFS, except for the price
