    Hi all,

New here. Justed started a 1.5ft tank this few days. No fish added yet.

Good start, maybe what you should do is to spread out the hairgrass bunch more.

My hand are like my legs, have great difficulty to plant those small smaller hair grass. Probably wait for the plants to settle down before re-do again.

Light: 9W PL table top lamp
    filter : dolphin H200
    substrate: white sand from LFS
    CO2: DIY
    Fert: No fertilizer

Found that some of the background plants melt away, removed them and added a PC fan. Current water temp is 27 deg, hope everything goes well.

not sure whether the 9W tablelamp is sufficient for your plants...especially the hairgrass.

beter to monitor and see how it goes

    Thanks, all.

Few days ago, I have actually change the sand to gex substrate and bought a 18W PLL ocean free lamp. The driftwood no longer leaks color to the tank and the the water remains clear now.

Not sure needed to cycle the tank again to add fishes?

Another problem is, white fungus is growing furiously on my driftwood. Really thick layer man. Anyone knows how to remove it?

How long was your filter stopped to change the substrate to GEX and rescape? The bulk of beneficial bacteria should reside in your filter media for a cycled tank. If the filter was stopped for too long, then yes, you would probably need to restart the cycle again as it would have killed most of the bacteria.

The rescaping took only 3 to 4 hours the most. So should be pretty alright, from your answer.
