    Hi all,

i just gotten the abovementioned from Nature and placed it in my 4ft, soft acidic planted tank.

i noticed tt after a few hours, the bottom of the lower bell gets clogged up with some whitish, translucent gel... and the water level rises up to just at the base of the pyramid opening into the upper chamber containing the indicator. after a few hours, the gel disappears from the bottom bell. the fish dun seem to have been playing with the tester and the tester remains upright after the gel appears.

my worry is whether this is normal? will the accuracy of the indicator be affected? how can i avoid this? is it due to some chemical reaction between my soft, acidic water and the indicator?

    many thx

if i am not wrong, read ure instruction leaflet again...i think it said something about the level should be constant,if it isn't maybe u have a leak within the plastic device or maybe u didn't cap it on tight...as for the funny gel like thingy,it didn't happen to me so i am not sure....but i do know tt the readings i got after the first time i used to were off...read the thread about the long term co2 tester...seems quite a few of us have tt problem...

It happen to mine too when my tank is new. Anyway, after some time, it will go away and it should not happen again.
