It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!

Oops that was a fast reply. I was guessing guttata and edited my thread. Looks really beautiful. Is it a variant of guttata?

Apistogrmma guttata from Wilhelm ( not too sure if this is what you mean)
is slightly different.
Picture from RVA (www.rva.jp)
I guess its an variant, but not too sure why its called "Amapa guttata"

Eh i think Apistogramma guttata is a valid species right.
Then Apistogramma guttata from wilhelm is probably line-bred for colour while the first fish is probably Apistogramma guttata 'Amapa' which refers to the locality?

Yup Amapa is a state in Brazil so probably refers to locality.

so Amapa is the variant (where it is collected)

I think so. I'm not exactly sure either. Perhaps the others can help.

Been doing some reading around.
Mike Wise mentioned that A. sp. "Amapa Guttata" is also known as A. sp. "Pineapple"/"Multi-spot"/"Vielfleck". He suggested to discontinue with the "Amapa Guttata" name as the fish does not come from there, and it is not closely related to A. guttata. Instead, it is related to A. tucurui and A. sp. "Xingu".
