Transfer from 2 ft to a 3 ft

Hi guys,

Could anyone advise how to be real fast in transfering from a 2 ft tank to a 3 ft tank ?

From what i can gather

(A) Cycle 3 ft tank for 2 weeks or so,then transfer live stock.

or

(B) Use existing water in 2 ft tank and add into the 3 ft.

BUT here comes the question,

I have only 1 x 2028 Eheim filter,(Option A faces this problem) Cannot run both tanks at the same time with only 1 filter.

Secondly,i'll be having NEW ADA soil in the 3 ft tank, if i use option B, would i be facing any death of live stock.

Life Stock,around 20 Cardinals,10 Black Neon, 5 Glowlight 4 otos and 20 Boraras.
Heavily planted with Hemianthus micranthemoides and Red tiger lotus,
3 big and 2 smaller ones.

From my experience, my previously new ADA caused an Ammonia spike in the initial weeks...think roughly on the 9 day. (This would cause fatalities) But I'm not too sure on the 2nd version of ADA...maybe it doesn't cause the spike.

If you have a single 2028, is there CO2 involved or merely the filter? What I did when I changed to a bigger tank was to an air pump (for water movement) and do a slightly more frequwnt wc (once every 3 to 4 days)...

2nd week - add commando fish to test water
2.5 week - do wc, if commando fish still survives,
3rd week - trasfer unwashed filter, CO2 and fauna to new tank.

The other may do it differently...

Set up your 3ft the usual way ie plant heavily, install 2028, CO2, lights etc. Let it cycle for two weeks without any fishes or shrimps.

As for the 2ft tank keep the livestocks there and add an air pump.
