it's not a necessity, but it's good to have so as to create an even water flow that reaches all parts of your tank.

you can, however, get around it by the following methods:

    1. using a hose splitter and 1 large filter. this allows you to split your intake/outlet into 2 so you can achieve the same effect as having 2 canisters

    2. using a powerhead to get flow in unreached areas. the downside is that the powerhead doesn't provide filtration capibilities and has the possibility of getting clogged as well if debris gets sucked in

    Pro:
If you can have two then all the better for water movement to prevent dead spot. Also with two filter you can have more medias for mechanical/chemical and biological filtering.

    Con:
Too much to maintain and hardwares.

ic... i currently using 1 caninster and the outlet is connected to 1 reactor and to a rainbar and the inlet is connected to a skimmer. The rainbar is connected as the flow is blowing from right to left. There's a dead spot below the rainbar and reactor that side.

So if wanna place to make the flowrate better and cover all the dead spot how should i place it? At first i brought the 'UP' rainbar that is in black to place it with the reactor and place it behind and the blow is from back to front but it seem like the flow is not so strong. Is it that must have another caninster connect from another end? Or is there any other way?

yup you can, but make sure the canister has enough flow, or you'll just end up with 2 very weak currents. for a 4 ft try going with a Fluval FX5 or similar if you want to split
