it's ok to feed it as a snack once in awhile, but not as their staple food. the fish love it but it's pretty low in nutrients. perhaps limit it to 2-3 times a week?

I tried them before and the fishes were ok.
However be mindful that wild Apistogrammas might not take to it.
    Bred ones should be fine.
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!

hmm does he not take the flakes at all, or does he just not charge towards them when being fed? he might still be eating them at a later time off the substrate when he's hungry. that's how i usually acclimitize my apistos to eating new food. i find that after awhile, they pick the food off the floor...don't know if it'll work for you though?

i would also recommend mixing some of the new food with their old, but as your situation is not one of acclimitizing new food but of trying to get them back to prefer an old food that they abandoned for a new one...i think go with the former method of just putting the flakes in and letting the fish eat when they get hungry.

I do feed ADA AP 2 for my apisto and all of they take it instantly (it might varies for different fishes).

    You could try it.

Try to hatch baby brine shrimps, its more nutritious than adult brine shrimps.

bbs would be good, but if you're planning to acclimatise them to another type of diet i would not suggest that you mix some old diet with the new. through my limited experience, some fishes are super fussy and will end up only eating the old diet and ignoring the new, and since they do not face a shortage of food, they will most probably not be motivated to change their diet plans at all. faced this problem with my caca. it was not until i completely starved him for days (maybe weeks) before he gave in to take in tetrabits, OSI and hikari pellets. previously he was on a strictly bloodworm diet. pampered dude.

Agree with you. The male one seems to be more fussy eater compare with the female.
Female one still taking the tetra flakes.
