why so funny one use KOI MUD can make CRS more white?? i feel the traditional way is the best, which is to keep water quality top notch and your crs colour definitely will be very nice. i dont think there's such a thing as using all the weird additives can make your S to SS grade.

well...good genes definitely do make a difference...but i think that it should work...i am sure i am not the first one that know of such methods.can anyone who has tried it before tell us?
thanks
hi guys,
anyone tried the above method before?
always see so many posting on good grade CRS. Shared some views on how to increase the white of the shrimps...anyone has any other methods?
Didn't heard of the koi mud method before. Maybe ask your friend to shed some light. But my views are the usual. Clean water and cool water. Food will only enhance the whiteness by the minimum.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
Does anyone have a picture of this amazing koi mud?!?!This is the first time i've heard of sure a thing = D sounds to me like humans using 'special mud' for facials >_< Could you post a few pics of your fren's crs too?

it better someone who have used it can tell us ..... if not wait all the crs become mud colour..haha... i got one friend keep his crs in those brown colour water then the white become yellowish... he told me that shrimps like dark water..so he go and put those leaves in the water to make it brownish... now whole shrimp become brownish in colour...at first i thought he cross with bee shrimp...then i know what happen....now he have change to clear water already...hope his shrimp will come back its white....

The potential pitfall of this is that aquarists may expect it to be some kind of "miracle" solution to get better grades of CRS. When you read something that says "rather easy way", there is a tendency to ignore the basics of fishkeeping.
IMHO, there are no "miracles" in fishkeeping, only hard work. Dumping them in koi mud with the hope of getting better grades of CRS while neglecting good husbandry (water conditions and quality food) just does not work.
That is not to say that koi mud does not work. Some questions:
1. More white means exactly what? White is much whiter? Thicker white bands and by how much? 5% thicker? 20% thicker?
2. Do all shrimps that go through this show the same effect? How many shrimps got this treatment?
I'm always in the Hong Kong Forum & the item that stormydax is talking about could be this...
But I think this is more for when the CRS is moulting... Could it be that it can produce a whiter shell after it sheds it's old shell...
Anyway I'm just trying to see if the item is what I'm showing...
The people in Hong Kong always recommend that I use this...
have you ever tried using them before?
Sorry Bro... Personally I've not tried it yet as I don't have a chance to hop over to Hong Kong yet due to work... I would've bought it (If I knew about it) when I was in Goldfish Street 02 weeks ago...
But the breeder that I bought my CRS from swears by it & I saw some in his tank as well...
Another thing to add... The people over in Hong Kong & Macau are really crazy about Japanese products...
I will start another thread about this so as not to confuse stuff...
