Just a question, I am gonig to Teo's farm to purchase the following.

    1) Cryptocoryne Undulata
    2) Vallisneria nana
    3) Rotala "Nanjenshan"
    4) Ludwigia "cuba"

the staff at Teo's know the scientific name? Or these plant got common name that the staff can recognise? Initially wanted at Ah pek farm in Pasir Ris but Ah pek don't know scientific name.

I am not sure if they have the plants as their main business are export. So they don't keep stock.

They would refer to the orential book and I don't think the know most of the scientific names.

Why not just order it from LFS like Biotope, C328 or Midori?

I ever emailed the list to Teo & requested him to return call to confirm the availability. He called me on the following day to answer my query.

When I visited the farm few months back, non of the staffs working there know anything about scientific names. Luckily, I brought along with me a book that I can show them the photos.

Unless you are buying a lot, I don't encourage you go all the way there to get your plants.

If you need the corresponding plant number as per the Oriental catalog, do let me know. I have a copy with me.

Do they recognise plants by photos? If they do then maybe I just snap photos from computer screen and bring it down. Or they need the number? Does the book gives the name of the plant?

If you know the plant number, you can call to order & save a trip. Only need to go over to collect. SMS me if you need help.

But, it is more fun going to the farms.

The younger lady at ah pek's place knows the plants' names. The plants they stock there are more bread and butter species.

Don't bother with Chinese names from Taiwan magazines either. The folks at the farms will also give you equally blur looks.
