is it a good idea to put a 2006 eheim internal filter in a 2ft 80l tank? Beside the water flow and pump that is of concern, what other factors do I have to take note when selecting filter?

Heavily planted tank, relatively moderate bio-load, 2006 can.

    Considerations:
    - capacity for filter media and ability to utilise different media... subject to your needs, of course.
    - ability to be fitted with other equipment like skimmers, CO2 reactors, etc.
    - ease of maintenance. I like the Eheim internal filters cos it's easy to remove the media compartment and impeller for cleaning without having to remove the whole thing and then reinstall, re-run cables, etc.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

It quite heavily planted. Bioload, there are about 30 green neon, 20 cardinal, 4 apisto, 3 oto, 1 puffer and about 20+ malayan shrimp. Do you think 2006 is good to use.

That's a pretty heavy load, going by general guidelines. What filter do you use now? Does it have similar size and media as a 2006?

Actually using 2006 now. 2006 was bought for my last 1.5ft tank, think of reuse it to save cost for the new 4ft/5ft tank.

I see, so you're shifting everything including fishes and filter from 1.5ft to 2ft tank. If it worked for your old tank, it'll work for the 2ft.

i'm using it too... but for a smaller tank... 2feet 56l...
have 30 cardinals 5 red phantom 2 black phantom 20 yamatoes 40 malayan 15 green neons... pretty heavily planted... but i finds that the filter media needs quite regular cleaning...
