But when I take a look at the tank, the workmanship is really bad...

Oh i got that tank when i wanted to start my planted tank. when i wash up the tank before i begin, the base came off. it was lucky that i haven't put in anything yet.

for the other type, i think just stick to Nisso or maybe Penta(?)...

yes i have the framed 2ft ocean free. i think in future, just steer clear of ocean free. heard enough about the lights too

The 3 ft ocean free tank at PE-WE also leaked. I am also using an ocean free one and keeping my finger (now after reading this, my toes oso) crossed.

my 2ft tanks are all nisso.. very good workmanship..
if your base come off like that.. u can ask for refund..

the corner curves on my 1.25ft nisso seems abit wide to me... you guys know of other brands that is frameless and have a smaller curve? like those in amano books...
joe, i got my nisso tank from petmart but that's over a year ago. i think the curved ones are about $20 more expensive than the normal ones.
your 1.25ft nisso tank is the one that has no black frame, the base is greyish colour? i also have one of that, also bought from petmart.
not sure where you can get the one you're looking for, but maybe you'd like to drop by at b328 clementi? i like to go there to look at the range of tanks they have.

yes u r right cory... its the type without black frames and a grey base... it was love at first sight... bought it immediately when i saw it at petmart...
but i always have this phobia that the tank might give way since there aren't any frames to hold them together... imagine the amount of pressure acting on the connections at the back corners...

joe, which tank in 3ft? anyway, have seen nisso black-framed 3ft at that clementi lfs. as for frameless, didn't really take notice, except for the ocean free one that i'm using.

only the reflector looks good and the height is nice... but the wiring is crap and the plastic parts inside my 2 feet casing is all broken! the whole thing is falling apart! its got its left casing(the black part above the leg) disjointed to the whole thing cuz the plastic that helD the screws broke off... its so dangerous... if it slips out and falls into the water!

coryfav, i'm looking for nisso frameless 3ft...
saw at clementi and aquamart that they have framless 3ft but the front is curved... don't really like those...
