Its almost 3 weeks for the pair to spawn again. The female is guarding it very closely and wacking the male.I will need to get another tank to house the male, that poor fish has been shifting to different tank for the third time.
The 1st batch of fries is about 3-4mm now,the last count is around 30 of them.Keep my finger cross to see how many fries I can get this round.
One question, how long should I let them rest before next mating time? What is the health time frame for them to built up again?

If size difference not too much shouldn't be a problem unless the tank is overcrowded, but I don't know what is ok and what is too much.

    Oh and congrats.

I saw an interestin sight this evening. While the fries rushing for food,2 of them that are about 4mm flare at each other and use their body to push the other party,so small yet their aggressive natural is already there.
Too bad they are too small to be taken into photo.

I would certainly agree on that. Full of character in such a small package!

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Updates:2nd batch didnt manage to hatch as the male turn aggressive and the female respond by keeping the eggs in the stomach

The 1st batch is 5mm now, their stomach is like bottomless pit, eating non stop and giving out waste non stop.I have put in 2 set of over hang filter and change water every 2 days to maintain the water quality.

May need to look for another tank to house them as I have abt 35 of them in a 1ft tank now.The death rate is about 10% so far,the reason of it been low is maybe I didnt shift the fries to another tank since they were born.

    Will do another updates again.

It is better to shift the adult fish. The fries are more vulnerable.
