Osaka i don't know how to describe... been there but don't know how to describe to you..sorry..

Tokyo... there are tons in Ginza (around 3 or 4), Higashi-Ginza (pau-pau) , Shibuya (Aquaforest and another one inside odakyu)..these are the common ones and more easy to find..the rest are about 45mins to 1hour away....but these are the really big ones..haha..

If you can read Japanese, try to get your hands on the latest copy of the ADA Aquajournal. In there, there is a page which tabulates the number of entries sent in through the LFS in different parts of Japan. And the address of each shop is stated in there.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

If you are in the ginza area to check out An aquarium.. go check out Pau Pau Aquarium too.. its 2 stories big..so its a pretty good shop.

What you want to do is to find the kabuki house.. the old traditional play house.,,can take a few pictures as well before you leave..haha..
From here, with the Kabuki house on your left walk along with traffic.. you should come to a traffic light.. look around here and you will see a 77 on a glass pane ( should be on your left). Face your back to this number and walk across the traffic light ( which also means turn right and cross the road). Then just walk straight.......alll..the... way....
You will see starbucks, a nissan showroom and also cafe de creole...and then you should be able to see a big sign on your left saying tropical fish.. and you're there..
    hope that helps..

    Cheers,
Thanks Benny, just visited Aquaforest, Subnade #3, B10 of Shinjuku station.

Planted folks will drool in that place, the variety and quality of woods and rocks, accessories, and even all the fish display tanks are nicely done up. The 2 beautiful Altum angels in the tank just outside the shop is 12" tip to tip - they made my day.

    Sorry guys no pics.

I totally agree with Gecko. The tanks are nicely done and the plants looks better than here.

I have some pictures somewhere, will try and post them.

    Yupz.. got that address right..
For those that are going to Aquaforest.. here are directions..
Go to shinjuku station...get out of the train and go DOWN the escalator.. there is only one up escalator in shinjuku and that brings you to the south exit... which actually have another fish shop here one..but for aquaforest, you DONT want to go here..so go DOWN the escalator..
You should be either at the east or west exit now... so just walk through the underground shopping places and STAY underground.. LOOK for signs that point you to exit B10... Near this exit you will see an underground shopping centre called SUBNADE... go down to subnade.. walk straight..and turn right at the SECOND junction of the shopping centre...then its just straight to the end.. you'll see it.
For Aquaforest, actually... the wood and rocks are over-rated... accessories and displays.. okay...will give you that one..haha..not bad. As for price of fish and plants... just be glad you'e singaporean..and enjoy what we have here. Maybe you see already then you'll realise that gripping about the 50cents you save from shop to shop looks so stupid.

Heres a picture of me in Pau Pau in Ginza.. i look so happy!! this is like half of their plant section.. The fish section is like 4-5 times this..they also have an equipment section..and a reptile section...and a fish tank section.. and a marine section.. and a cafe inside..hahaha..

It takes a trip out of our comfort zones to appreciate what we have.

    Yup..must always ask..

    By the way, Chongyu..
An Aquarium is on the top floor of Matsuzakaya shopping centre..
This is one majorly big shopping centre..so its hard to miss.. its located on chuo dori.. just a little bit from the giant ginza clock tower..
Just don't get confused with Matsuya or Mitsukoshi...Both also very large shopping centres in Ginza..and both of which have some sort of fish centre on the top floor as well..

It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
