hi all. my hands got itchy and decided to start this mini tank last week and cant believe it, even for such a small tank, planting HC is hard. went to C328 to buy some rocks and managed to find some that are small and pretty nice to me.

    tank specs:
    10.8x10.8x12
    natural CO2(emmersed)
    27W National brand table lamp
    gex dark green gravel

    flora:
    HC

    fauna:
is it possible to even put any fish and look nice? any mini fish to recommend for my mini tank?

first time doing this so i just copy one of the many scapes takashi amano did but the front 2 rocks colour abit different, but just added them in.

    planting..

    final

comments are welcomed hope this scape turns out well. by the way, im using the non-algae method to let the HC grow well first before adding it water.

Hm... I prefered to have similar collor of rock, unless it is dark brown because of wet.

For fish, you can try boraras, there are couple of selection to choose for. I have couples of boraras brigitae, it is about 1~1.5cm

so do you think i should remove the 2 front rocks? the middle one is the natural colour. actually wanted to find those kind of grey and partially white at some part rocks, think its call granite right? but seldom see LFS selling them. even if they do sell, its rather big.

hello guys. i just rescaped my mini tank, decided not to have an iwagumi scape, just some low maintenance plants and make a small planted.

oh ya, can someone help me id the anubia species? i brought it from C328 yesterday and i thought it is small enough so decided to use it. but dont know which species it is. the lawn is taiwan moss btw.

hi fireblade. my HC was doing well growing emmersed. then i decided to fill in water after around 1mth? initially it was alright then some white slimy stuff started growing on the rocks and slowly around the tank walls, really disgusting, but it give a kind of 'lost world' look. haha followed by 4 days of fever, i never bother about the tank and the white stuff got worse and some of the HC melted. decided to just change it but the gravel is used to plant my 2 spare pots of HC

edit: was thinking of placing some fish inside after 3 weeks or so. what do you guys think about putting a betta inside? abit cramp? or 3 boraras brigitae?

haha this tank is at my study table. regarding fishes, that will have to wait till the tank is cycled. of course there is no filter, doubt i can find a filter for a 10cmx10cm tank

wouldnt shrimps be too big and too hard to keep in such a small tank due to their sensitivity?

don't put the crs of course la

cherries or malayans would be ideal
as long as tank is stable and shrimps acclimatised properly, imo they are much hardier than what most people think

hairgrass? where do you think i should plant it at? the tank is pretty 'full', although i thought of placing some anubias 'petite' in the middle, but really expensive and hard to find.
