unlikely, higher wattage generally means longer tube.

    It depent because
    1) The ballast is external and enclosed in plastic housing, not sure if it is molded or have screws to open it, will check later at home.
    2) Not sure if the ballast can spport higher bulb wattage, if not then you need to change the ballast
    3) the legth of 18W bulb may not fit the light housing

bought the light and a few more rocks. shall update on the pic later oh ya i read an article and it says that for iwagumi scape, the gradient shouldnt be too steep, or rather mostly flat so as to place the focal point on the rocks. is this true?

hmmm...looks kinda squeezy to me. but then that's just me. why not get a few smaller stone group them together instead of using 1 single stone??? just my suggestion.

but i got to say good effort and it's getting better

My 2 cents? Get one medium sized rock and break it up into smaller pieces to use in your arrangement. I can't find the gallery, but ADA has some nano tanks set up with just 1 rock and it still looks good. Maybe try to mimic what's been done in those set-ups?

actually i rescaped again and currently planted it with dwarf hairgrass(i think?) shall post the pic soon once my cam is working. anyway brian, i think i know which you are refering to.
http://picasaweb.google.com/Virus31CZ this is a gallery compiled by our fellow AQ member, just want to share with you all. think its in one of the stickied thread. the thing about those nano tanks is the rocks. amano seems to be able to get those large and not too large rocks just nice for the tanks. haha
no matter what, look forward to my final scape.

haha thanks blackghost. my hairgrass are growing well now emmersed but really slow in creeping, dont know why too, probably because im using a 13W lamp.
and i also notice some white fungus like growth on the tip of some hairgrass, feel and looks like spider webs. any idea what it could be? i usually use a water spray and slowly wet the soil and evrything in the tank will be wet. could that be the reason for the white growth?
