Shops at Tong Choi Street will start opening around noon. But for all shops to be fully open, including those upstairs shops, best to go in the evening. One of those great upstairs shops is GuppyWorld. Shops there start closing around 1030pm to 11pm.

    Hi

I think it is better to stay in Jordan or Tsimshatsu area. It is less crowded than Mongkok and Prince Edward in my opinion yet near to these area. You can consider these options: -

    1) Mongkok MTR - Metropark Mongkok (3 star), Langham place (5 star and quite expensive)

    2) Jordon MTR - Prudential (4 star), BP International (3 star) - I stay there previously and it is not bad (economical, near to temple street, lots of eatery, near to Mongkong and Prince Edward), Majestic (4 star)

    3) Tsimshatsu - Kimberly (4 star)

There are many more to consider. I suggest you go www.asiatravel.com to check it out.

If you need any information, please feel free to drop me a private message. I will try my best to help you.

    Regards
    William

    Hi

I have been there a couple of times but I have only been to Tung Choi for the 1st time in Sept 07. I am very impressed with the huge variaties of products. I suggest you plan a few hours if you intend to shop there. There are many aquarium shops and how I wish Singapore has something like this. You can definately find something you want.

I have tried YMCA International House (3 stars), which is very near Yau Ma Tei MTR and literally 2 small streets to MongKok area. The side door leading to the vehicle drop off bay, is 50 meters to the exit of Yau Ma Tei MTR. Very convienient location. Also tried YMCA Salisbury Hong Kong Hotel, at Tsimshatsui right beside Penensular Hotel. Newer than International house and maybe more facilities too. Great view if you choose the higher floors of the Harbour facing rooms. Also walking distance to Tsimshatsui MTR station. Both are quite decent hotels.
