redmondmok,
Welcome to AQ. I see you are another DIY guy.
Interesting project, what is the cost savings?
If one were to do the same project where can they buy all the hardware?
Richard

Hi Richard,
In terms of cost saving, I guess not much.
But all the accessories are to the spec that I wanted.
For the OSRAM light, I get from disti.
The other stuffs are from de******* (don't know can Adv or not..can PM you if you interested..
)
Total cost is below 3 figures.
Hi redmond,
Welcome to AQ!!
And you can post the supplier's contact if you wish. However, your suppliers may not be too keen to have their prices reflected here. Please take note.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Hi,
Like your DIY. I did DIY also but didn't look so neat. My lights are hidden out of sight. For my next DIY project if I embark on it - Where do you get the casing and how much it cost? I tried to purchase it from the lighting shops but they are quite expensive - about $12 for a 3 ft casing. I abandon after a while and just use pieces of wood to hold my lighting.
hi there,
gong xi fa cai!
I got it at below $6 (not actual, because cannot review actual price).
It's around kaki bukit industry area.
I do not have the address, but i recall it's a place selling air-con tubing/housing.
Comes in 8feet but they will cut it to size for you. (better add some buffer length and you can trim to the actual size you need)
Direction:
At cross junction with Kopitiam on your right, you turn left at the first slip road and go straight. Turn right at the first white building. And after u make a right turn, it wil be on you left side.
Really sorry I cannot remember the actual location.

Hi there,
Thanks. Never thought of cutting it shorter. Maybe that will do the trick. Strange but a 4ft of 5ft is cheaper than a 3ft because of demand.
happy diy
