    Hi guys/ladies,

I'm thinking of buying a Atman (ultrajet) 3338 canister filter or Atman CF-1000 but cant seems to find adequate amount of information via internet.

I have a few qns on my hand hoping to get answers. Thanks in advance

1.) Does it comes with self priming?
2.) How much power does it consumes? (watts)
    3.) Hows the reputation?
4.) Whats the cheapest price around and where can i get it?
5.) What does it come with?
6.) Whats the flow rate of the filter?
7.) Hows your experience with it? (Optional)

Really need some help with this. Thanks in advance again

1.) Does it comes with self priming?
The new CF1000 comes with self priming.

2.) How much power does it consumes? (watts)
    I think is 35W.

    3.) Hows the reputation?
I bought two 3338 in 2002 and 2003, and they are still working, with no parts changed. But note that I seldom cleaned the filters. So there's less meddling on the filters... maybe that's why no parts break down

4.) Whats the cheapest price around and where can i get it?
    I got them at NA.

5.) What does it come with?
Just the tubings. No media, although the box says "Media included".

6.) Whats the flow rate of the filter?
    Should be around 1500.

7.) Hows your experience with it? (Optional)
Recently, I bought a CF1000 (successor to 333, so what do you think I would say?

HI guys, I've heard from my LFS here in JB saying that Atman is no longer in production. It has switched to Astro instead. Those Atman sold in market now are about 3 years old. Can anyone clarify that please...

    Re: Atman (ultrajet) 3338

Thanks for all your replies. I just bought a Atman CF 1200 haven got time to set it up yet. But cant wait to. I've got Eheim substrat 2litres waiting to be put into the canister with my eheim mech .

I'm not sure bout Atman being outta production coz i saw mine labelled as produced in somewhere at sept last year.

Thanks for the info...meaning my info is not accurate. By the way, Atman is not that popular in JB, so, I bought a JEBO 828 instead. Spent whole day today setting up. Happy setting up shalabin!

    Thanks Eddy.

Anyway i just posted a new thread. But just to get faster reply, i tried running my atman filter with a pail of water a couple of time and find that the water that goes thru the filter comes out oily. So wanna ask is there anyway to get rid of the oil as i am scared that my fish just might go "ALOHA" (die).

I had my JEBO with the same problem too...i was worried just like you. So, just give it a rub with a clean sponge, lesser but still oily though. Run it on a pail of water for few days. I think i can still see a bit oil stick on the inner tube but confirmed with the LFS, it's safe. Just need to remove the oil if you see those oil on the surface of your tank later. If you have a skimmer, that would be better.
