Custom made light stand

yap, my glass is 10 mm. I make it 12 mm to give a bit allowance. Should I use 11 mm for the width instead to be tighter?

One thing I like to highlight is that if the stand is resting on the tank. It's width would be very similar to the width of the light unless you get lights of shorter width. Else your lights may not be able to hang directly under the stand but have to rest partially on the poles of the stand. Still workable but just not so perfect to look at. Attached picture for better illustration. BTW, that's the stand I got from Amzi earlier.

JFTR: I've seen very similar constructs realized with an "el cheapo" clothes stand (maybe not exactly the one from ikea, but you get my drift).

That might work, unfortunately the maximum hight is only 160 cm. Normaly total tank hight including the stand from floor to tank top is about 130~140cm and MH need at least 30cm above water level.

Applicable only for tank with side braces. Mine is braceless.

An update.. I have confirmed the spec with the maker and delivery next Fri. Not 100% according to design as the aluminium is 2.5 cm thick but he promised will look good and similar to ADA stand.. Not sure if true but I will take a photo when the stand arrives and post here for the benefits of the bros

I made some changes to the spec for my glass is 12mm and to reduce ht to 40 cm since my cable to ballast may not be long enough to have 60 cm ht. Anyway dun tink i wil need to hang my mh more than 30 cm.
