thats very interesting.. it means your tank is actually better than the environment outside......
Hi guys,
My low tech tank have neglected for few month due to house moving(i only top up water once in a while). One day I realised a toad was staying inside.
It make me wonder how the toad can jump so high, as the tank is on top of my table. Anyway, before the tank is neglected, my friend spotted a baby garden lizard hanging around the tank. He thought the lizard is my pet. I am really surprize to see wild animal coming in to stay. Anyone experience animals visiting in your vivarium? Not counting house geckos lah.

wow what did the toad eat?? it must be a mini ecosystem inside
looks like thats creature is comforttable in your viva like a in their habits
hmm... Interesting. Any possibility that the toad came in with the plants as a baby and grew up in your tank?
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Judging from the size of the toad..it would have taken quite a long time for it to reach this size... so maybe the possibility of it growing up in the tank un-noticed until now may be quite slim...still its a possibility.
As for the environment... no one can say the toad chose to be here...or if it is any better than its natural environment.. that deduction is purely based on our biased beliefs...for all you know.. the toad might have fallen in and is now trying to get out...but can't jump out..however, it does look quite cute..
OH.. and this toad..might really be a frog..well.. all toads are actually frogs if you want to be picky..but don't think this "toad" is a true toad..as in from Bufonidae...it looks as if its lacking the poison glands..
Reminds me of once whereby i found a small frog/toad in the toilet of my home... and i was staying on the 5th story back than... never figured out how it got to my home.

How interesting. I think you must stay in a private housing right? My friend has a pond, and frogs are breeding in there.

I've used to have a toad staying under my oven for a few years. Those oven with stoves on top units. Everynight, it would come out and hop around the kitchen and the backyard then when day breaks, it will hop back to the underneath of the oven. This happened for around 2 years until it was not seen anymore, maybe it died somewhere under the oven due to old age? Did not move the oven as there are all sort of gas pipings behind it.
Good, it will eat your flies and keep your house clean.
Have you checked with any of your family member whether they might have placed the toad there themselves?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
Could it be a Pelobatidae sp? i know they are found in singapore..
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.
