Hi guys, just want to find out if any of you know about this fish and whether is available in Singapore or Malaysia? I'm thinking of keeping them so would need some help in finding out more about them. Let me know and thank you so much.

I last saw it in Colourful Aquarium in bags of 10 floating in one of the tanks. But that was sometime ago.

    Roy,

I have started a "Where to find" thread for you at the Aquatalk section, http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=34153. Let's see if there are any reports there.

Stocking of this fish is rather infrequently in the LFS, probably because it is not as sellable as other fishes. So you have to depend on sighting reports from the members from time to time, or ask the LFS if they are willing to bring some in.

As for this fish, there are still questions on their taxonomic classification. They are found in Lake Inle, Myanmar, pretty much tolerant of water conditions, whether it is soft or hard water and said to be slow eaters. They are rather shy and likes to hide among plants, so dim lighting or some floating plants as cover may be preferred.

Here are some links on the fish, including breeding notes.
