Just trying to re-plan my setup.

Can I use a MH light for a 2ft. Some advise that I should use that as its the best while others say its too strong as a 2ft is not deep enough.

actually mh is ok for a 2 feet. just leave it suspended higher from the tank surface. i regret not buyin mh when i started planted. now i am looking for mh light. if u intend to upgrade to a 4 feet in future yr mh also wont be put to waste.

Get a 70W MH set, hang it high enough and bare with the light spill.

When hanged low enough, it will posses threat as to excessive heat transfer and too intense light.

Im running a chiller so I dont think heat is the problem. Am more worried about light intensity and algae as it really strong. Saw Midori's setup at Suntec. Its very tempting.

BTW, how high do you usually hang your lighting?

    Thanks bro.

I'd say hang it at least 30cm away from water surface. Sometimes up to 45cm or more.

There sure will be some spills, but it would worth more than hanged low classic tubes into the tank in terms of effect.
