    Hi all,

After moving to my new rented house, I got myself a new tank with cabinet. Setup is pretty simple for now, but will add on to the existing setup when time permits.

    Tank Specification:

    • 4*2*1.5 feet 10mm (L*H*W)~ (340litres, 90 US gallons)
    • 2.5 feet high cabinet (plywood)
    • 4 feet 4*54 T5 lights
    • 2x 2028 Eheim Pro 2 filters
    • 5.0 litres Co2
    • JBJ Solaneoid
    • External Co2 reactor
    • AC Fan

    Fertilizers.
Too lazy to source for KNO3, so currently I change from my usual Barr method to :
Seachem flourish, Seachem nitrogen, Seachem Potassium, KH2PO2, Seach Iron.

Intend to doze 3x weekly, following weekly water change.

    Plants:
    • Java fern (various types) - all time survivor from my previous tanks.
    • E.tenellus & hairgrass. Has yet to grow to form the lawn, planted only 2 days ago.

The plant is the middle that look like the giant anubia is not mine, i think it is not an aquatic plant.

    Fishes:
3x Angel fish (maybe altum), 10x Black Neons, 10x of another species I cannot identify, 1 tinfoil barb, 1 pleco fish (2inches)

    Potential future additions:

    • Plant: Vallisnera Nana, Red tiger lotus, Crypts, Moss (java, willow, spiky, etc)
    • Fish: 20x black neons, 100x malayan shrimps, 2-3 otocinlus, and removing the 3 angel fish
    • Artica Chiller

Lights on 9 hours a day. Weekly water change. Tank is relatively new. Enjoy some pictures. Do comments on what you would add (fauna/flora).

nice suggestion. Will get some attached to the bottom of the wood, maybe get some crypts around it as well.

After watching amazon abyss, i think your tank has high potential if you tend more to the amazon biotope scape.

I hope you'll have no issues with the Tinfoil barb and Pleco(Unless its a dwarf). They grow really big and eat plants.

I recommend some moss at the base of your woods and a crypt lawn.

A quick update of my tank. Had a few issues with Co2, so give up for a few weeks. Finally got it working again. Bought some crypts, bolbitis. will look for some red plants soon, and some nanas.

I always like Java fern on wood.

Won't the crypts grow in time and bury the presence of a foreground?

was told it would remain short... hehe... now it is creeping low in my tank... will see how things go... if they grow too big, will put them at the back, and side, and some on the wood.

    Cheers, Christophe

Christophe: Well, not only you needed a new place, your plants needed a new home too!

The Java Ferns are looking good. Wonder how you guys do it. Mine would turn black or grow crooked.

    Cheers!

My java fern too did at start. Maybe it need to acclimatize. But then after a while it grow back again. It grow better with Co2 injection.

This weekend, I am going to cut all the old leaves and new ones will be coming. I think some of the leaves are very very old.

    Cheers, Christophe
