    1 ft cube
    2x9W lighting, 10 hrs
Red bee gravel, easier to hold down HC due to the small grain size.
    CO2 injection
    Eden 501 for filteration.
A squirt of Green Brighty Step1 and Brighty K daily
Cooling fan 24/7, topped up every 3 days.
    Weekly water change.

HC, UG, Taiwan moss., narrow java ferns.
    Currently housing low grade CRSs.

I'll get around for a snap once I cleaned up the tank.

    Thanks !

nice hc lawn you have in your tank, so envy of your hc never had the chance to grow hc like yours. mine always melt. anyway would be nice once you add in better grades of crs. your crs will be breeding very well in the nice environment in no time.
    cheers!

    Nice!
I really like the moss, especially those at the bottom.
Would be nicer when the HC covers up the little holes

How long did it take for the plant to grow to the stage in the photo ?

Here's the recent shot. Yeah, already I moved the diffuser to the back. I had actually filled in the back with baby narrow java ferns. Hopefully the back will get filled up nicely. The tank now it about 3 mths.

I have actually tried dozens of times with HC. I find those from Tropica stabilise better, leaves much nicer and but unfortunately Far East doesn't seems to bring in anymore.
    Here are my few tips:
    1. Choosing the right HC is important. Look for those selling in pots with tiny leaves. Those are almost in submerged form. They stabilise better. I never got any luck with those in mesh form.
    2. HC prefers cooler water. They melt lesser this way.
    3. They need bright light. You can see in my tank, the darker area shaded by the branch doesn't seem to grow well. I use UG there instead.
    4. You can split 1 pot into 4 sections. Plant them deep, nevermind the buried leaves. They will spread after that. Just don't move them around after that. Plant more if you can. I use 3 pots for my 1ft tank. 5 in my 2ft tank.
    5. No shrimps or cories before the HC stabilise and start spreading.
    6. Lots of patients...
