    Hi,

Just to share some photos of my Ivanacara Adoketa.

The first photo is from the first batch I got from Hong Kong in March this year. Total 4 of them. Size less than 1 cm when I got them. Now about 4cm. They are kept with diftwood and mosses.

The second photo is the second batch I got from Hong Kong in July this year, total 6 of them. Size is less than 1 cm at that time. Now about about 2.5cm. They are kept in plain tank without any plant or driftwood.

I hardly see all 4 of them (first batch except for their meal time in the morning) They hid most of the time.

I intend to add some driftwoods and plants in the second batch to see if I can get them to look like the 1st batch, in turn of coloration and face pattern. Could be because of the water condition.

Love the patterns on the first pic. The 2nd batch may be too young for their distinctive patterns to appear. They are said to take a year before they reach sexual maturity.

    Cheers,

No, they are all by themselves, both batches, in different tank of course. I have searched through some websites, apparently some of these fishes do not seen to have pattern on their face. Anyway, let me change the tank setup for the second batch and see what happen.

Here's an old picture of mine that I did up to "disturb" yorky. Can't remember for sure, but these coloration/markings only comes out during breeding/mating periods.

Perhaps mickthefish will clarify as well since he has had a good run with his breeding batches.

Still too small for pattern to fully develop.
HAd to wait till at least 5cm & above to see much more pattern & cute behaviours...enjoy
