As mention above and i know that this have been list out many times and yet still got some of us do not understand including me.

    Here's my questions:
    1) In a planted aquarium, does dead spot or strong flowrate invite Mr algae?

    2) How do you consider is a good circulation in a planted aquarium, how do you arrange the inlet and outlet of the pipes to have a good circulations.

Hope that some bros or pros here can give some advise.

Yes. Dead spot means waste can be accumulated at the area, resulting in higher concentration of ammonia to be released. As a result, algae feeding off this well of nutrient. From personal experience, when my moss in area of bad circulation is not cleaned periodically of the debris from the yamatoes waste, I tend to get staghorn algae pretty easily.

For high flowrate, Sera's guide to their list of products does suggest that BGA is due to high flowrate. However, personally, I find it is to be very debatable.

Personally, I'm using two methods. One is with outlet using a rainbar placed vertically downwards on the same side and area at the inlet. So that water is pushed around the entire tank and then back. So looking from the top of the tank, the water travels in an anti-clockwise direction around the tank.

The second method is by a lily-pipe. Also putting the inlet and outlet on the same side of the tank. Outlet Lily-pipe more to the front glass and inlet more to the back. From the top of the tank, water current travels in a clockwise direction.

If the inlet and out in on the same side means the flowrate of the caninster must be strong that can blow around the tank.

My tank is 422 with braceless don think can use lily-pipe and somemore can only face the outlet towards the front glass instead of facing the side glass.

My current caninster is using 2028 and i puting the inlet and outlet on each side. And a small filter head blowing under the inlet through the reactor. Is it enough?

for a 422, my current 2028 is insufficient to create flow around the tank and i had to buy a separate powerhead to add to the flow

if i were to do it again, i'd use 2x 2028 and put 1 inlet/outlet on each side vertically down like what valice suggested so that there are 2 circles within the tank

I have design 3 methods. Are they ok for a good circulation?

    Method 1

    Method 2

    Method 3

Method 1 and 3 can be either using internal or external reactor.
    Need advise thanks.
