Botanical gardens and macritchie reservoir seems to be a popular choice.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Just walk around the reservoir on the boardwalk and observe slowly. Most people go so fast they miss all the nature around them. And remember, no collecting...

Yeah. No collecting. Otherwise, it will be a very, very expensive purchase!

i've been wondering about this for some time too. Perhaps can find some good hardscape to scape. Can rocks/stones, deadbranch that is by the banks be collected? Some parks have nice ponds which corners grew natural. Etc. Bishanpark, ponggo park, Bukit panjang park.

I am not sure if there are rules about collecting dead objects in nature reserves, but if you appreciate the beauty of nature and wish that the beauty could be conserve as long as possible, it is best not to take anything back as even a dead branch is the platform for something to live on as insects, plants, fungus thrive on dead branches, microscopic bacterial break down dead tissues to return nutrients back to nature, A rock may also provide hiding places for some insects or small raptiles. So it is best to see, and not take anything back. There is a old saying "Take nothing except photos, leave nothing except footprints"

A pond with wild bettas? Thats really nice. If there are bettas, there might be other species of fishes too. Aquatic plants as well!

I once spied a stack of granite rocks dug out from a construction site and was left by the roadside for days. I took a few nice pieces home and washed them clean and soaked them in bleach. Now they are in my tank forming a cave.
    Yours Truly, Avan
