    greetings,
Recently purchased a jebo HOT5 lighting that comes along with 4 jebo 14000k tubes.. Saw the lfs using the same fixture on their planted tank.. However, I just read some articles over there stating that the best temp for planted would be 6000-8500k, and that anything over 10000k would cause algae growth. Just wondering if its possible to use 14000k tubes for planted, and anyone tried it?

Any recommandation for 6500k tubes? If I were to change all 4 tubes, it would probably cost me another $120+ which means I have wasted my money and would be better off getting a Solite instead

I think you would get algae very fast if you use it.
You can replace it with Osram T5HO tubes.

er... what is the light color of your tubes when it is on? If I'm not mistaken 14000K color temperature is bue. Plant does not use blue spectrum

14k are mostly used by Marine aquarium due to the blue hue. U can use anything between 6-10k for planted....

To be specific, it is not really that the spectrum causes algae. It is more of an indirect cause.

To put it simply, it is that because plants need more of an even spread spectrum for effective and good growth. If spectrum is skewed towards blue, there will be lesser red. So lower plant growth, high lights, high nutrients, something goes wrong in the trinity, algae prosper.

You should have gone straight to Solite. Only individual reflectors brings out the true benefits of using T5. Else, the effectiveness imho is similar to PLs.

just a question, that means if the temp is 2000k the light would look more red?
