Placing of MH Lights

I'll like to enquire on the placement of MH lights....
Should it be hung from the ceiling or can it be placed on the tank by just using the light's exisiting stands? Thanks

Some folks have customised a bracket to hang from the bracket. Don't keep it too close to the water. Maintainence can be an issue.

I remember biotope selling some light stands for MH. The one he is using for his 3ft display tank.

Too close to the tank means hotter too. If you got no chiller, that might be a problem. And if you have a chiller, it will be kicking in very frequently.

Hmm, probably a stand will do the trick....still deciding whether to use MH or T5 lights....
The tank is 2ft deep

Its a built-in tank inside a full height cabinet
since my friend has already purchased a T5HO set, will have to leave it as it is
