Straits Times on Saturday there is this Classified section where there is a column talking about aquarium. Normally i just scanned through without paying much attention as it generally wrote about very basic stuff.

Last Saturday, there was an article on aquarium lighting and the writer stated there the HO tube we use is not intensed enough to provide plants for optimal growth. He recommended VHO- Very High Output tube or MH.

Have you seen VHO T5 in the market?

I saw it in Hong Kong by Dymax. But, I was told that it is very expensive.

It could be that this bulb is "Over-Drive' capable. The only e-ballast I know that can over-drive T5 bulbs are the IceCap 660 ballast.
