Can anyone identify if these are two seperate species or just different bloodline?

from your pics both are "green terror" gold saums.

yeah same species but markings a little difference.
top one looks like blue acara but no it isnt.

sometimes they change colours according to diff mood or the atmosphere in the tank...
a dominant and subordinate fish can look drastically different. (if you remember my all black belt belt)

both are same species.

chinese malays indians are all same species too. but look different [:]

I noticed all of the GTs I had seen in Singapore are gold saun type... yet to see a live silver saun GT.
BTW where(website) can I see a wild-type GT?

I find their colours simply beautiful, these GTs are really fasinating.

I saw ben selling them too but he didn't know what they were called until I told him.

I read that the true green terrors are sort of extinct? How different are they from these gold saums?

Those pics you posted are all Gold Saums.
Nowadays, the Green Terror, Aequidens rivulatus, is very rarely, if at all, seen in the hobby.
Now, they are replaced by "Gold Saums" or "Silver Saums".
These, i believe, are related cousins to Green Terrors, so their scientific name should be Aequiden rivulatus sp. "gold saum".
The Green Terror has dull markings, without the orange/silver band on the tail, and without the silver/gold border on the fins..
I think this is one of the main reasons it is no longer in the hobby. I think another might be that it could be endangered in the wild, not sure about that though.

Midas kind of aggressive.

But personally i am just fine with the GTs we have now..
