Hi, friends, I am preparing a new set up for the New Year. Also seeking advice from the expert here.

On the left planted is HC, the right is APP. More have yet to be added. BTW, the lighting is one 2ft 18W and two 1.5ft 15W FL lights. Tank size is 30x16x16inch . Sand used is ADA amazona. CO2 will be introduced later.
    My questions are:
    Is lighting sufficient?
What other plants suggested to enhance the look?
    Thank you my friend.

An update on day 2; more plants added. These include E. Tenellus and some unknown plants.
The rocks was arranged in such a way that to fence the E. Tenellus on the slop.
Due to ADA Amazona, water still cloudy with particles floating on the water surface.

An update on day 5; set up filter and CO2 system together with few more plants added. Fill up water to almost full height. Keep my fingers close that the HC could propagate to form a nice carpet. Welcome your comment, good or bad are accepted to improve further.

Day 8, place the spiky moss on the left; the set up should be finalised now. The next stage will introduce the fishes.

    hi there.

I am no expert but i can give you my views.

Compatibility-Take a look at some of your plants, some are very demanding, some are not, its not easy to strike a balance with it. Are those crypts at the back of your tank? I am not too sure whether they will go well with HC in terms of scaping.

Slope- The steep slope behind the rocks does not look natural. You might want to change the gradient of the slope. Its like a sudden slope up.

Focal point- I see you added a big driftwood with moss there. Okay, ask yourself, when you look at the tank, what do you see? There seems to be 2 focal points now, the large piece of wood and that bright piece of rock. Try making your scape to have only 1 focal point as your tank is not too big. Try to build your scape around your focal point and make your focal point stand out. Its like watching a show with a main actor and many supporting actors. Without your supporting actors doing a good job, the show will not be generally nice to watch even if the main actor is really good.

    Hope it helps.

This morning I do a minor rescape. I move the driftwood with moss to the right next to the rocks, to achieve the focus point there.
Most plants seems growing, except the crypts which is rotting. I do not know why? The HC also growing very slow.
Do I need to dose liquid fertilizer now?
I will update new picture when ready.

Day 14, minor rescape completed. Introduce 8 Apistogramma cacatuoides, these are from the same batch of baby fry that grew up together. They don't seem to show much aggression towards one another. Also add in 40 pieces of tetra (name unfamiliar).
