    Are cooling fans able to drop the temperature to 26 C?

    Cooling fans can only bring down the temperature 2-4C below your room temperature.

    thank you there....but what type of fan would you recommend for a 3 feet tank?

    some fans can produce quite abit of noise, its best to test the fan you are going to buy at the lfs first.

    go for a dc fan. safer than an ac fan but you'll need an adaptor.
    just remember, a high speed fan is noisy.

    I have a 2ft tank with water temp at 28. After DIY using a PC fan, temp was reduced to 26. DIY fan following the method in the following website,

    I only install 1 PC fan as I only have 1 spare PC fan. AC/DC adapter was an old 12V adapter from spolit phone. Hence no cost at all. As per requested, picture as shown below.

    If you do not want to DIY, you can buy from LFS which ranges from $12 to $40 depending on brand and model.
