How to unclog diffuser?

How should I clean and unclog the surface of the ceramic piece, especially when it has gone gunky and algae infested?

I used to bleech it. Having 2 units & rotate the usage comes in handy.

Use a 50-50 mix of bleach and water, soak for about 10 minutes, you will see your diffuser returned to its former glory.

After that, flush the diffuser under running water, then soak in water with plenty of anti-chlorine for about 10 minutes before returning it to your tank.
