Rubber suckers sometimes don't stick very well, especially outside water.

The P plate velcro is very secure, if I remember correctly... I had a hard time removing the plates. Plus, I don't have a flat place to stick them on a wire mesh.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. One AC fan blowing on the glass covers from one side has dropped temp to 30. I'm setting up four DC fans this weekend to blow evenly on the glass covers and see how it goes before I decide on getting mesh or keeping the glass.

    Ronig,

If I put the glass covers over the lights, I'll have to find a way of mounting the lights under the glass, and I'll have to lower the water a few inches to accomodate the lights.

Second, the glass will keep the heat of 8 x e-ballasts and 12x36W PLs in the enclosed space... so it defeats the purpose.

Third, I don't want the dragon to jump into the lights. []

Erm, just a thoughtwhat abt using nets?

Mount the fishing nets [big hole type] on a enclosed PVC pipe. Something like those use on Koi ponds.

It's strong enough to hold the fish under water, and since got big holes can let light through easily.
The key to success is patience. If that fails, screw the guy in front of you!!

Hi Vinz ... so much light for an arowana tank ... it's a planted tank ?? How about clear acrylic or persplex with holes drilled into them ? Lighter and safer. Or you can consider those plastic fencing material sold at DIY shop.

Yes, it's a planted tank. It's the tank in my signature below, more pics at My Tanks and my website (link in my siggy).

With clear acrylic, I might as well keep the existing glass covers. I was looking for fencing material, but can't find it at the DIY shops I went to. Will try the shop in Kelantan lane when I have time. I'm concerned that the fish/nylon netting may trap him and pvc pipes are rather flimsy in long lengths.

    Hi Vinz,

You can try Kovan Heartland Mall, 3rd storey, DIY shop - beside EPB bookstore. They have quite a few varieties of meshes there. Different mesh shape in plastic.

I suggest using PVC pipes and cable-tie the mesh to it. They are easy cut to size, and you just need a few t-joints and elbows. IMO, can be assembled quickly and easily.
