Hi bros, need some input on water circulation in tank. Mine is a planted tank with CO2 and was told there shouldnt be any surface water movements. I was wondering if fishes prefer water movement in the tank or entirely no movement?

    Yo bro,

As long the water movement does not move like saltwater tank is ok. Some circulation is good for atmosphere oxygen to dissolve into the water.

    Cheers

I'm using Rena cannister filter and the rainbar is 1 inche below the water surface. I have another Elheim internal filter to circulate the water. Just wondering if fishes prefer calm or some undercurrent movements?

I would say not too much undercurrrent, as this will make the fishes swim abit harder and the current will disperse the fish food. Try to observe your fishes whether they able to finish their meal. I believe the current will disperse the food and some of the fish food might drop onto your substrate and decompose. This will in turn promote algae growth.

If you have spare cash, you can try ADA AP food series which is plankton base fish food and it DOES not promote algae growth even the food is not been consume.

    Cheers.
