Was at a lfs the other day and fell in love with L46... very pretty looking. Its the 1st time I've actually notice such a pelco and am surprised that its in the range $3++ to $4++. May I know what if that's the market price?

Where else may I find cheaper one.... thanks.

That is the market price, and anything cheaper would be a steal. It seems like you may not have done enough research into it, so I would suggest to read more first before diving in.

A short one on why it became expensive (although probably not helped by profiteers), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebra_pleco

There are other cheaper zebra-lookalikes that is going for around $50 (more or less), so you may want to look at these. Check out our Catfish section in the Freshwater Fauna forum.

I kinda support the brazillian government for imposing the ban though. If it's not a fast breeding species, protect them before it's too late.
