First and foremost, it'll be best if you enlighten us on your current setup and we can work from there.

Also, at the end of the day, you really have to ask yourself this question: have you done enough reading on the basics of planted tanks?

To have a better chance of success, it would be good to try re-reading as much as possible. There are stickies at the top of our forum, these should help you understand the dynamics of a planted tank...

    Hi,

    1) You are using a sump filter which will cost losing of CO2 very quickly with a lot of agitation on the water. You need to compensate by injecting a lot more. The usual theory of 3bubbles per sec are when you are using canister filter (or others) with minimum gas exchange.

    2) Your tank is 2.5ft in height and I think a 150W MH is more appropriate even for a low light setup. Others, you can consider more tubes of PL. Flurescent is too weak and you have too few.

    3) How much of the feropol are you dosing each time?

IMHO, needn't go to the extend of using MH..a T5 should be enough to penetrate that depth. Guess the main concern here is whether the low laying grass be able to receive the amount of light.

I would suggest we go a step at a time. Your current setup and dosing regime doesn't justify the death of your fauna. How long has this tank been? Has it been cycled yet?

the tank has been running for more than two weeks before i put in the fishes ...
that is two weeks before the date of my first posting .
for the dosing regime i use a cupful of feropol cap.
if i change to T5 light how many tubes do i need.
and for the co2 injection what is the proper dosage for my tank...
if needed be i will re setup my whole tank again...and begin from scratch.
i do need your advice from this stage on and setup up as in accordance to your best suggestion.
thank you evryone for helping me i really appreciate it..

Your tank should be more or less cycled. Are your fauna still dying?

As for the requirement or light and CO2, I would suggest you do a read on the required needs of the intended plants. It'll give you a good clue on how much to use. For your current plants of nana and Jave fern, the light requirements isn't that great.

How many fishes did you put in, what species and what died?

What about the plants? Show a picture of the tank would be good.

Depending on the plants you want to keep, it can be from 2 - 6 tubes.
