Anyone have any experience with this fish?
Am thinking of getting 1 ocelleris clownfish and some of these chromis for my 2ft tank along with some inverts.
How many chromis could i have with an ocelleris clown?
Are these chromis hardy fish, or are they quite difficult to maintain?

btw- kel, what kind of lionfish gave you that scar? a volitan? And do you wish to take a pic of it?[]

james, chromis is extremely hardy.. and very easy to maintain.. they are also reef safe... but they are schooling fishes.. so, u might want to consider getting abt 3??

yes james, it is indeed a volitan... take pic?? of the scar?? if it is the fish, then too bad.. it jumped out of the tank.. to commit suicide.. must be trying to chase those marine mollies (yes, marine mollies!!! i converted them from freshwater to saltwater.. like that, they will have the proteins that the lionfish required!!)[

Kelvin, i have my options down to two thing now, either 3 chromis or a pair of yellowhead jawfish.
i meant take a pic of the SCAR! would be cool to see[

Cause heard that they required substrate deep enough for their burrowing activities or they would be stressed up....

I have 2 juvenile ocelleris clown fish (false percula clown fish). They swim everywhere, very different from other species which always swim around their favourite corner or hide somewhere where you cannot even find them.
to keep jawfishes, u need very deep DSB.. but i have seen them building up on their holes.. and fortified their holes with pieces of rocks.. and shells..

3 chromis not enough(a grp of 6 will be better), i tried 7 but still very sparse- just like neons.
a pair of jaw & clowns would be cool.
Chromis> not only r they hardy- they super hardy,tolerate most water conditions & temp- able to withstand salinity way below 1.021(limit ard 0.6 if done gradually). (BTW-Damsels can go down to 0.4/0.3)
They will accept anythin- tubliflex/bloodworms/BS/bbs/tetra bits/flake.
& they are in the cheap marine price range & they fill the upper swimming levels.
I think i will be going with the yellowhead jawfish.
The DSB will be about 4-5".
Then some live rock, then at the front some rubble..
Oh, and some low light corals too (mushrooms, some polyps..)
The yellowhead jawfish are cheap for marine fish here.
They are £19 each..i paid £20 for my Lionfish and £24 for my Snowflake Moray Eel, again, these fish are at the low end of marine fish prices!

Do you have any pics of your marine fish other than the snowflake eel? Last time i checked your yahoo folder, no other marine fish apart from the SFE...

See, when you are browsing AQ, you could stop for a few mins THEN take pics? haha..would just love to see your SW fish though..what fish do you have, apart from the SFE?
