    Hi Richard,

    nice tank & interesting fishes.

Don't you have any trouble with aggression?

    Yixiang,
Yah, like to try different setup. Quite fun doing rocky tank, much prefer it to a planted tank.

Chris, no problem with aggression now as they are still young. Now they have the usual skirmish, chasing each other around. Only casualty now is a missing Julidochromis regani. I still don't know what happened to that poor fellow.

    chongyu,
yah already got some rocks from my friend, but the rocks are quite dirty, being lying in the garden for some time. Now trying to clean it properly. Tried bleach, but still not very clean. Some stains can still be seen. Next step, try to get some acid.
You know where to buy acid?

Wow Richard, you are really fast! I just saw your shellies in their old tank and now they are in their new home. One suggestion, maybe you can change the sponge filter to a Top filter or cannister filter. It is less intrusive when viewing.

    Jason,
You are right about the sponge filter, ugly!
Am thinking of a top filter, hang on or small canister.
Or maybe I'll get some rocks to hide it.
creativitec, the small shells are escargot shells, the bigger ones (sorry I don't know the name) my friend got it from a gift shop.
Shells are hard to find, try gift shop or florist.

    Richard,
Let us know when your new tank is ready. Or better still post some pictures. Hmm ... now you are tempting me to get those shellies. Too bad I do not have any more space (or is this a blessing in disguise?). Wait a minute, someone in my office is giving up some tank. Maybe I can put them in the office. Does anybody know how if these shellies is able to adapt to cold water (as in air con room temperature water)?

african shellies prefer nice, warm water. Use a heater.
