    Eugene,
All of them are so beautiful.
I like the viejita, the dorsal fin is awesome.
The red coloration is so intense.

I was bitten by the viejita bug today

Here's the male I have. I think it is quite young, judging by the size.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! 4 solid hours of shooting, glad the pictures turned out ok.
Was told the Ap. viejita is from Wilhelm's lineage, hence more reddish on the head/face. Check out the Ap. trifasciata throat, he's got a black throat! Something i thought was rather unique.

    Hi nictc

Very nice male you have. Also, try not to resist the bug, resistance is futile...hehehe. Welcome to the unofficial Apistogramma Club!

Very similar to a pair I had.

Don't make me go back to my old roots....

Your pictures are getting better and better.

Seems to be Ap. macmasteri instead. Face patterns and coloration differs from Ap. vijeta. But you've got a good specimen. Good buy!

They are overseas imports. These Apistogrammas are not mine to begin with. I am just photographing them.

Wow! Nice pictures! They certainly look much better now that they've settled in. I really think the Apistogramma viejita "super red" has potential. The Apistogramma bitaeniata's base coloration looks nice too!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
