    Hi Guys,

Just to ask.. Has Nannacara Anomala a.k.a Golden-eyed Dwarf Cichlid ever been on sale before in the Singapore Market?

Want to know more about this pair of dwarf cichlid if anyone actually owns such a gorgeous pair before..

    Thank you all..

    Cheers

    Hi,

it was sold before in Singapore before at about S$25-40. It's fairly easy to breed. However, they are very aggressive. You need a big tank if you are keeping more then 1 pair together.

    Hi

Which mean to say that they are not able to rear together with other apistos even in a 4ft tank le.. Just like my nijsenni pair.. Very aggressive and territorial.. They simply chase and whack any other apisto and fishes once you introduce them into the tank.. So have to pull them out to a tank of their own..

    Hi,

they are able to rear together with other apistos base on my own experience. I had ever kept more than 10pairs of apistos with Nanacara Anomala in a 4ft X 2ft X 1.5ft tank. The female N.Anomala even breed in the Comm tank but of course, the fries did not survive at all.

    hi Samuel,
Isn't that the perfect excuse to setup another tank for more dwarf cichlids?

By the way, they are very beautiful when in spawning colours.. turns a shade darker.. very fierce looking.. i like them too!
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!

Dangle here lor... The males are rather aggressive towards the females. So do provide ample space for female to hide even though if its just a pair you're keeping. The pictures are named wrongly. They are still Nanacara anomala.

    Sam,
It's OK to have 15 tanks, I know, cause I got 15 tanks at home!
Oh yes, I remembered not too long ago, a member bought some from Hong Kong. Couldn't find the thread, sorry.

    Haha Bro..

I would like to house a 4ft tank in my room just like you are planning now at the moment but I am running out of space due to my bed la.. Shouldn't have bought a queen size bed back then..

Guess have to wait till my new house come.. Then I can free up my current room for more apisto tanks..

    Cheers..

    Hi Bro Eugene,

Seen your picture.. They are magnificant.. I think the ones I saw on website is a bit different in terms of colours.. This could be their colours during spawning?

Here is the male from a website:

Here is the female from another website:

Good quality males have the silver sheen as seen in your pictures. Mine is of sub quality standard hence the missing silver sheen. Can't expect too much for a pair less then $50

Your female picture is when she is in her brood caring colour. Very intense brown and black patterns on her body and face. .
